Here at the Newmarket Osteopathic Clinic we treat a wide range
of conditions - age is no barrier!
Common complaints are:
1. Back pain
Often this may lead to nerves being trapped causing pain, pins
and needles, numbness etc. in arms and legs.
Back pain in pregnancy can often be relieved.
2. Neck pain / "Whiplash" injuries
These may also cause trapped nerves.
3. Head and face pain
Headaches are a very common complaint
Dental problems and dentistry may cause some unexpected symptoms.
4. Sports Injuries
Most often affecting arms or legs, e.g., knee cartilage tears,
Tennis Elbow, and other sprains and strains.
5. Certain Degenerative / Arthritic Conditions
Osteopathy cannot cure these problems but can often relieve
pain and stiffness.
6. Certain Childhood conditions eg.
Birth trauma. Glue ear.
How we treat.

Treatment is mostly carried out using our
hands.
Techniques range from gentle massage and repetitive stretching
to specific joint-releasing "thrusts". On occassions, more subtle
techniques are employed, especially with children, e.g., "Cranial
Osteopathy".
Where necessary, Ultrasound, Low Level Laser or acupunture
may be used.
Most patients find treatment pleasant, relaxing and rarely painful.
Exercises are often prescribed and advice on lifestyle, posture
or diet frequently given.
